 Hi I'm Danielle Hedges.  I am a born and raised local girl. After high school, I went to Tennessee where I went to college and met my husband.  After a few years away, I missed my family and my beloved West Virginia so I came back home.  I am a mom to Kacey, Karee and Kaden, they keep me pretty busy. After taking a year away from being on the Mid-day show, I am so glad to be back with you every weekday from 9a-2p.

Questions Your Kids Ask You.

I have been on the radio from before my oldest daughter Kacey was born. It is a normal thing for her to hear my voice on the radio. She asked me the other day when we were walking through Walmart if I was "famous" because I was on the radio. I started to think about this. I never thought of myself as "famous." 

I think for radio DJ's it a weird thing because you as a listener, don't see us face to face like you would see someone on TV or a movie.  I could be standing beside you in line at the grocery store and you would not know that I was on your favorite radio station. It is really cool when  people find out that I am on the radio. People act excited. Probably the most popular question I get asked is "what is it like to be in a room by yourself and talking into a microphone?"  I might be here alone but when I am talking I am thinking about  the mom that is driving to do errands, the people that are working hard at McDonald's, the ladies and fellows working at City Hospital, I think about you.

So to go back to my daughter's question am I "famous?" I don't think I am.  I think I am a friend who is there when you need help getting through a bad day or there celebrating with you as you make it through your crazy life.  That's my favorite part of being on the radio...being there for my friends.
