Salary.com is celebrating the hard work of moms across the country this Mother's Day, as NBC's Today show announced the launch of Kathie Lee and Hoda's Mother of the Year Contest with Salary.com. Live with Kathie Lee and Hoda on their May 10th show, Salary.com will present the Mother of the Year with a Grand Prize check for $112,962 a Salary.com calculation of what mothers would make if they were paid an annual salary for their work. Nominations for Mother of the Year can be submitted by visiting klgandhoda.com where contestants can find the official rules. Three first prize winners and three guests will receive a weekend getaway to New York City. Moms and their families can visit http://mom.salary.com and create their own Mom paycheck with the Mom Salary Wizard. Users can create a hypothetical mom paycheck, which can be printed and emailed to family and friends for Mother's Day. Salary.com identified 20 job titles that best matched a mom's definition of her work:
Staff Nurse - RN
Day Care Center Teacher
Laundry Machine Operator
General Maintenance Worker
Chief Executive Officer
I was saddened at the passing of Dick Clark yesterday. Watching American Bandstand was a fun part of my childhoood. Apparently a lot of celebrities took to twitter to express their sadness too.
