Thanks for tuning in!

Hi, I'm Rona...and I'm pretty random. I blurt out things that come to mind. Sometimes funny, sometimes serious. Tune in to find out what I mean. Drop me a line at!

I'm a postin fool! 3-D Peanuts movie, Don't waste your cash, Insane huge roller

As you can tell, I was a postin fool today!

6:15 New 3-D Peanuts movie in the works...

When The Peanuts Movie arrives in theaters next year, producer Paul Feig promises that Charlie Brown won't twerk, wear a baseball cap backwards or try to "break the Internet" a la Kim Kardashian.

"I don't think his butt's big enough," Feig says with a laugh. In fact, there won't be a focus on the old-fashioned or the modern when the lateCharles M. Schulz's characters including Snoopy, Woodstock, Linus and Peppermint Patty come to life in the 3-D computer-animated film (out Nov. 6, 2015). Instead, director Steve Martino (Ice Age: Continental Drift) and the filmmakers focus on the timeless quality of 50-plus years of beloved comic strips and TV specials.

Awesome! (The only bummer is that we have to wait until NEXT November to see the movie) Check out the trailer below.

6:45 The 9th Annual Christmas Cash for Kids is in full swing and we need your help. Please donate at any City National Bank Branch, at our offices at 1606 W. King Street in Martinsburg, or at any ROCS Convenience stores! Thanks!

7:15 Don't waste your money on these according to experts!

According to a pharmacy expert at the UK's Birmingham University, there are many over-the-counter medicines that have little evidence of any effectiveness. Among them …
✗ Antibacterial Soaps & Wipes – It seems logical that antibacterial soap protects us from illness caused by bacteria. However, numerous studies have shown that triclosan, the active ingredient in many antibacterial products, has no advantage over good old-fashioned soap-and-water.
✗ Cough Medicines – There is little, if any proof, that they will help you recover. If your cough is caused by a viral infection, as most commonly are, there is no quick way of getting rid of it. Some costly cough medicines may even be harmful.
✗ Insomnia Remedies – Many over-the-counter sleep-aid pills contain an antihistamine, which is commonly used to quell allergic reactions and has the side-effect of drowsiness. There is no scientific evidence to support its usefulness for treating insomnia.
✗ Whitening Toothpastes – Over 40% of us use these, even though they often cost 3 times more. One dentist claims the chance of the small amount of active ingredient having an effect on teeth is virtually non-existent. You'd need at least 30 times that amount to achieve anything.

6:45 Google wants everything it can get! Your computer, pictures, music, videos, and now your health! They announced recently that they are working on developing a pill that can identify cancer and other diseases in the body. How cool is that? They (it's actually called Google X) are already working on some other projects for us muggles. Think: contact lenses that can detect glucose levels for diabetics and utensils that help manage tremors in Parkinson's patients. The Big G said people will be able to pop this pill within the next decade. This actually sounds to me like a good thing. Read more below:

7:15 Today it's cold. As such, there are things that people who are always cold understand. That the struggle is real.

6:45 Hot Wings Spark Birthday Brawl

A 45-year-old Memphis woman is behind bars, and her daughter has a date in juvie court, after they reportedly brawled at a family birthday party when the hot wings ran out.

WREG-TV reports Angel Murphy's 13-year-old daughter asked for more hot wings, but was told by her mother that not only were there none to give, but she couldn't have any more anyway, as the teen's doctor was concerned she had diabetes.

This apparently set the girl off; she allegedly began taking swings at her mom and the sister whose birthday it was. Murphy allegedly jumped right in, swinging back, earning her an arrest for domestic assault, and one for disorderly conduct.

For her part, Murphy's wing-seeking daughter has a date in juvenile court over the incident, and for reportedly resisting arrest, which her mom is also accused of doing.

Louis Primer, the girls' father and Murphy's partner summed it up, saying, "It's food: when there ain't no more, what can you do?" (Honestly, I think this is quite possibly the most profound statement of the story! Love that guy's statement).

See the story from WREG-TV here:

8:15 New Handbag protects against Identity Theft!

The first line of protection against identity theft is a purse that protects against Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). There's a new one coming on the market soon. Accessory brand Articulate raised $10,000 in just four days for its Kickstarter project, which is a stylish clutch made of material that contains RFID-blocking technology to prevent "electronic pickpocketing."

RFID allows you to tap your debit and credit cards to pay when checking out at a store. While convenient, RFID-enabled cards are also an easy way for thieves to obtain all your personal information by stealing your card info with their own smartphones.

Articulate's RFID-blocking clutch is reportedly one of the more stylish ones available. They're also large enough to fit a smartphone, cards, and cash. They are available as clutches, with wristlets, or with a strap to be worn as a cross-body bag.

Articulate's Kickstarter is open for business until November 22nd. (Click here to read more: Refinery29)

What CAN'T WD-40 do?, Not everything should be made pumpkin flavored, Move over

6:15 Sooo, I can imagine a mom came up with this list of stuff that WD-40 can solve. The list is huge and where I found it amused me. "Guru's Man Cave"? Ha! Here are just a few of my favorites from the list:

  • Removes ink from carpet
  • Removes Kool-Aid stains from carpet and fabric
  • Removes gunk from plastic dish-drainer?
  • Cleans bottoms of pots and pans
  • Cleans doggie doo from tennis shoes ?
  • Removes tomato stains from clothes ?
  • Removes ink stains from leather
  • Cleans and polishes gold and brass lamps
  • Removes adhesive price tag from shoe bottoms
  • Protects shower heads from rust
  • Protects silver from blackening
  • Cleans black streaks from hardwood floors
  • Removes rust stains from bathroom tubs
  • Shines shower doors
  • Cleans and protects TV antenna
  • Removes gum from wallpaper
  • Penetrates and frees stuck toilet shutoff valve

6:45 Some people really love fall time. I deal with it. Anyway, the thing that really gets to me is the fact that companies think this is the perfect thing to do to is add pumpkin spice/pumpkin flavor/pumpkin pie to everthing. Well, there are some things that simply don't need pumpkin flavoring. Here are 10. I agree with 70% of this list!

For the record, I'm okay with these items being "pumpkin-ized":

  • pop tarts
  • vodka
  • clif bars
  • bagels
  • the jury is out on the marshmallows though.

7:05- Just found out about this product that's about to launch. It's Reese's chocolate peanut-butter spread. Kinda like Nutella but um, more awesome!

7:15 Keep your tootsies warm in the winter with this new invention. It's called Digisole. So this new thing sounds perfect for cold tootsies. An insole that you place in your shoes that warm your feet, track your activity level and calories burned. The 'Digitsole' devices slip inside different types of shoes, are rechargeable, and connect via Bluetooth to a smartphone app so users can change their temperature, setting the level for each insole separately by sliding a bar on the screen up and down. The insoles also have sensors to track footsteps and calories burned so you can track both your activity level and posture. The French company behind the design claims a secret heating element allows warmth to spread from the front of the insoles throughout. They can be recharged via a built-in USB port. The hot foot gizmos can be pre-ordered on Kickstarter for $99. (Or you can just get some really thick socks for about 99¢.)Cool!!!!!

Here's the kickstarter page:

8:15 MARIJUANA-INFUSED SODA EXPLODES ON STORE SHELVES _ A marijuana-infused soda was pulled from three Washington state stores after bottles started exploding on the shelves. The manager of Top Shelf Cannabis in Bellingham, Washington, said his store received 330 bottles of Legal brand sparkling pomegranate soda, a marijuana-infused beverage, and the next day employees started to notice the glass bottles exploding. The manager said the bottles were placed in a steel box outside the store, where they continued to explode for the next 10 days. YIKES!!!!!

8:45 Friday Toy Memory- Remember when we were kids, we'd go to the arcade with tons of change in your pocket? You'd play video games like Super Pac Man and Q*bert for hours and hours?? Now you can have them on your computer because there have been 900 games like that that have been added for free online use! Happy time wasting!

6:45 I've been asked to present the C. Leslie Golliday Businessperson of the Year Award tonight at the 88th Annual Martinsburg Berkeley Co Chamber of Commerce dinner meeting tonight.

7:15 Sooo, this happened.

A woman who was on one of those Paleo diets so that she could get healthier, decided that she'd try eating dog food instead for 6 days. While on her diet she learned some things she saved money by eating the kibble and improved her blood sugar level and increased her energy. [The only drawback was that she had to give up driving due to the irresistible urge to hang her head out the window.]…lost weight! The blog post where she recounts her experience is pretty funny.

Read it and chuckle. But also, Ew!

8:15 I got the perfect holiday job for you. There's just this one have to move to England to make it happen.

Cash on the highway! FIx my toilet please!! Catchiest Pop Song ever, Election in

6:15 Must Be Nice: Drivers On Maryland Highway Stop When A Bunch Of $$$ Flies Out The Back Of An Armored Truck - Yeah, this happened in my town...and where was I? Taking a nap. Argh. Ha! Read the whole story here:

6:45 Told the story of trying to get it all done and still failing miserably—and not knowing a darn thing about plumbing.

The reason I never do home improvement projects is because I don't know what I'm doing and in most cases, I just make it worse. All weekend, I'd been dreading trying to change the bolts that connect the toilet tank to the bowl. That seems pretty easy right? After all, I had watched a Youtube video to show me how to do it, what could go wrong... right? I decide to being all of this at about 9:30pm. Well, first I had to clean the bathroom because I had costume pieces, cosmetics everywhere etc. Well, I began and unscrewed everything, then I started to put the new bolts and after getting everything secured and back on, I realize there is leaking somewhere and I can't figure out where it's coming from. Now, it's roughly 10:45pm and I can't figure out how I'm going to get all this water off the floor. So I put a ton of towels on the floor and realized I'd have to call my friend the plumber and hope there's no flood when I woke up! There wasn't but I'm still in need of fixing the toilet. Ugh.

7:15 So do you think you could recognize "Wannabe" by Spice Girl's in 2.3 seconds? If you could, you might have chosen that song to be the catchiest pos song of all time. Spice Girls' 'Wannabe' is Catchiest Pop Song Ever

Remember how much you heard the Spice Girls' breakout hit "Wannabe" back in 1996? Apparently the song has so stuck in Britons' heads that researchers have determined that it's that country's catchiest pop song ever since the genre began in 1940. The University of Amsterdam researchers came to their conclusion using an online quiz in which participants in Britain were asked to identify songs as quickly as possible by listening to them. It took them an average of just 2.3 seconds to recognize "Wannabe," while it took an average of five seconds for other songs. Ashley Burgoyne, who came up with the experiment, told the BBC, "Although this is just a casual observation on my part, very strong melodic hooks seem to be the most memorable for people." Read about it here:

8:15 Our 97.5 Newsperson Marsha K came in to discuss election day. She gave us the times that the polls open in the different jurisdictions and info we have on our websites about candidates etc. Our news staff has put in an incredible amount of work to gather info about candidates you'll see on the West Virginia ballot tomorrow.
