The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Review

Part 2 of Peter Jackson's 3-Part Hobbit film series is finally here with "The Desolation of Smaug". Great news: It is fantastic! Many of you know that I am a huge Batman and Hobbit fan, so of course I am going to be excited when a new film featuring either comes out, but I think many people will agree that "The Hobbit" connects in all the right spots. Last year's "An Unexpected Journey" was a great film, but it did lack excitement. Well this new film is filled with it. Peter Jackson also has added many new scenes and even characters that do not appear in J.R.R. Tolkien's classic book. That is a big risk, especially if they don't pan out. Luckily for Peter Jackson, they all work out great. I think you can take the whole family to this movie, as it is fun for kids and adults. You do have to see the first movie first, as even though it is a trilogy, it is really just one story. One final thing: the dragon Smaug is the best dragon to ever be featured on the big screen. He is worth the price of admission alone. You will not be disappointed.
I give "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" an A+!

Can't wait for 2014's Hobbit finale: "There and Back Again".

Other new releases:

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues:
Another classic comedy from Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. The sequel to the classic is hilarious. Very fun movie. Don't take it too seriously though, as it is just pure fun. A-.

American Hustle:
Very well done film. Great acting and story. Really funny too. Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper are great, as are Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence. Another A movie for sure! Trust my grades though, as all 3 movies are great.
