Starbucks Diet? Friday Toys

Happy Friday y'all. In editing the blog this week, I wanted to encourage you (if you haven't already) to vote for Martinsburg High School at www.celebratemydrive.com. They are vying to win $100,000 courtesy of State Farm Insurance. If they win, they will divide the funds between all the Berkeley County High Schools.

Hans and I got to talking about 1990's raspy voice bands. I made some comment about how Matchbox Twenty reminds me of those late 1990's bands.  Here are just a few that take me back to that 1998-ish era. Hans commented that it's hard to believe that was 15 years ago. We're old!

Eve 6-- Inside Out
Nickelback- How you remind me
Tonic- If you could only see
3 Doors Down- Kryptonite
Harvey Danger--Flagpole Sitta

What if you lost  85 pounds just eating at Starbucks every day? This lady did...

A Virginia woman claims she has lost nearly 85 pounds in two years by eating all of her meals at Starbucks. 66-year-old Christina Hall attributes her success to counting calories -- which she does by ordering the coffee chain's pre-packaged foods, which list nutrition information. Breakfast is always oatmeal and black coffee, for lunch and dinner she chooses between a bistro box and panini. However, she adds, "If I go for a bike ride, I can come back and have a brownie." Hall dismisses criticism from dieticians who say she may suffer from malnutrition and/ or gain the weight back. "Nothing hurts anymore, she says. "I feel like a kid again." See a video with Christina here.

Earlier today, I asked the ladies if they ever wished that they could go into a store and pick up a hot man right off the shelf. Well a company in France is doing that. French dating site AdopteUnMec.com (AdoptAGuy.com) has opened a store in which men are on the shelf -- literally. It showcases single guys by putting them on display inside human-sized toy boxes. The traveling shop is open in Paris for ten days before it moves to Brussels, Lausanne, Toulouse and Lyon. If you can't make it to any of those locations, don't worry -- you can always shop online. <========= It's in French so you can't understand it...unless you speak French. I don't. Here's an article in English to help!

Friday Toy Memory: The game BurgerTime! You as the chef had to run around and create a burger with elements of the sandwich all while being chased by mean hot dogs, fried eggs and pickles. You could easily kill any of these dastardly foodstuffs buy just stepping on the burger element to smash them into dust! Fun. I spent hours playing this nonsense. Remember it? Here's the video:
I'm off for a few days next week. Y'all have a great weekend now, ya hear! :)
