Undoubtedly, by now you've heard of Felix Baumgartner who just broke the sound barrier by jumping from 24 miles into the earth's stratosphere.(right? you have heard of him haven't you?). Here are the details:
Felix Baumgartner landed safely on Earth after a 24-mile jump from the stratosphere in a dramatic, daring feat that may also have marked the world's first supersonic skydive. Baumgartner came down in the eastern New Mexico desert minutes after jumping from his capsule 128,097 feet, or roughly 24 miles, above Earth.

Be Prepared. A properly packed emergency kit is essential during the winter. It should contain a flashlight, extra batteries, water, flares, blankets, a shovel, a snowbrush, an ice scraper and tire chains where they are allowed by law.
