Office Excitement and lost wedding ring found by the uh dog, Make sure to stay h

6:15 Yesterday, we had a lot of excitement here when we started to smell something that smelled like it was burning. Anyway, we called the fire dept who investigated the smell and they advised us to turn off the AC. Funny since we are always complaining about the air conditioning system here. BTW, thanks to the Martinsburg Fire Department for taking care of us and keeping us safe yesterday.

Weird thing...it's on this morning. Who turned it on? Did it get fixed after I left? What's going on? This is what happens when you are only in the building for a few hours a day.

Then I switched gears and told this story: TOO STUPID FOR US TO MAKE UP:
• A Wisconsin woman has found her missing wedding ring in an odd place. Apparently, her dog Tucker had been keeping it safe in his stomach for years. A few days after the family food thief ate an entire popsicle – stick included – Tucker threw up. The ring surprisingly appeared in the dog puke. It seems the popsicle stick may have forcibly moved the ring from where it was lodged in the dog’s stomach. The owner says she simply cleaned it up using toothpaste … and her toothbrush. (Eww!)

6:45 In the summertime, all I drink is coffee, wine, and cocktails. No lie. So its hard for me to get enough water. Here are some great tips for getting the H2O in for you and your kids.

Ways to keep yourself and your family hydrated this summer.

  • 1. It doesn’t have to be water – many fruits and vegetables have a very high water content. Offer watermelon, strawberries, broccoli, celery, cucumbers and other watery fruits and veggies for snacks.
  • 2. Make sipping fun. Pick out their own drinking cups or travel bottles in their favorite colors or decorated with their favorite characters. Buy a set of crazy straws. Invest in ice cube trays that make ice in fun shapes.
  • 3. If kids balk at drinking “boring” water, give it some flavor and color. Freeze berries or cranberries into ice cubes, or infuse water with fresh fruit, herbs or vegetables such as lemon, mint, watermelon or orange.
  • 4. Make your own popsicles for a fluid-rich treat.
  • 5. Make sure water is easily accessible for little ones.
  • 6. Be prepared. Invest in an assortment of reusable travel bottles and keep them filled and in the fridge so you can grab them any time you head out for a walk, bike ride or car trip.
  • 7. Create a reminder system for drinking water.

7:15 You know the drill, you go on vacation and your diet goes out the window. That doesn't have to be the case. I came across some really good tips to avoid vaca weight gain from a travel writer.
