Welcome back from the weekend. It was beautiful. I was so busy this weekend that I think I might need a weekend from my weekend!
Over the weekend, a friend of mine got married. Unfortunately, her father took ill the week before and was in the hospital. So what did we do in this digital age? We Skype'd the wedding. So he could see everything that was going on during the ceremony and he was even involved. They asked him to give his daughter's hand in marriage and all that...from his hospital room. Also, his room was decorated with wedding bells and a "Father of the Bride" sign on the door, and there were some hospital staff who came to the room for moral support. It worked out well...considering the circumstances. --What a wonderful digital age we live in!

Madonna did the first of two shows in DC last night. She took the stage 2 hours late. Apparently it's becoming a habit. I've seen two stories about it from about a month ago.
Did you watch the Emmy's last night? I did ...sorta. I was trying to get ready for another day here so I missed a lot of it. I did notice that Mad Men (my favorite show) got SHAFTED!!!! They had 17 nominations and received no awards! I'm bummed. I also noticed that the color on the red carpet was yellow this year. Interesting. I guess we'll see a lot of yellow next spring. All the info on the show, the academy etc is here. Here is a boildown of the winners and losers:
The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards were handed out last night. One of the highlights of the night was when host Jimmy Kimmel invited “30 Rock” star Tracy Morgan to lie on the stage, then asked viewers to post on Facebook and tweet that Morgan “just passed out” and turn on ABC right now to see it. It worked, with the message going viral and maybe even boosting the Emmy audience for a few moments. The big winners include:
