Love that iphone! Skype'd wedding, Oh Madge...get a watch!

Welcome back from the weekend. It was beautiful. I was so busy this weekend that I think I might need a weekend from my weekend!

Over the weekend, a friend of mine got married. Unfortunately, her father took ill the week before and was in the hospital. So what did we do in this digital age? We Skype'd the wedding. So he could see everything that was going on during the ceremony and he was even involved.  They asked him to give his daughter's hand in marriage and all that...from his hospital room. Also, his room was decorated with wedding bells and a "Father of the Bride" sign on the door, and there were some hospital staff who came to the room for moral support. It worked out well...considering the circumstances. --What a wonderful digital age we live in!

Did you get the iphone 5 on Friday? If you did, you weren't alone. Here are some stats about people who waited in line to get the newest Apple technology. People certainly lovin’ The iPhone 5!

ProtectYourBubble.com has released the results of a poll fielded in New York City Friday morning of over 150 Apple fans in line for the new iPhone 5. The first-ever study of iPhone 5 purchasers reveals 51.7% of Apple fans value their iPhone over their wallet. Other results:

  • Of the Apple fans waiting in NYC lines, 74% were male and 26% were female and the average age was 25.

  • 40.6% of Apple customers have previously purchased three or more earlier models of the iPhone.

  • Apple fans waited an average of 2-4 hours in line to get their hands on the new release.

  • If Siri were a real person, most Apple fans in line (27.8%) imagine she would look like Angelina Jolie. Tied in a close second with 25% of the vote are Betty White and Cameron Diaz. <========= this is my favorite stat... I think it's pretty funny!

  • The new features Apple fans are most looking forward to using include the bigger screen with 41.7% of the vote; a stronger battery came in second at 29.2%. The sleek design received 25.7%; and a more powerful camera received 22.9% of the vote.

  • 32.2% of Apple fans are planning to buy iPhone 5 insurance.

The second most popular brand for Apple fans is Samsung. Other popular brands include Sony, Starbucks, Gucci and Nike.

Madonna did the first of two shows in DC last night. She took the stage 2 hours late. Apparently it's becoming a habit. I've seen two stories about it from about a month ago.

Did you watch the Emmy's last night? I did ...sorta. I was trying to get ready for another day here so I missed a lot of it. I did notice that Mad Men (my favorite show) got SHAFTED!!!! They had 17 nominations and received no awards! I'm bummed. I also noticed that the color on the red carpet was yellow this year. Interesting. I guess we'll see a lot of yellow next spring. All the info on the show, the academy etc is here. Here is a boildown of the winners and losers:

The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards were handed out last night. One of the highlights of the night was when host Jimmy Kimmel invited “30 Rock” star Tracy Morgan to lie on the stage, then asked viewers to post on Facebook and tweet that Morgan “just passed out” and turn on ABC right now to see it.
