Kelly Clarkson and The Fray Live

I went to the Kelly Clarkson/The Fray concert featuring Carolina Liar, Thursday at Jiffy Lube Live. And I have to say....GREAT SHOW! All three artists did an amazing job and the crowd really got into it. I have been to many Kelly Clarkson shows, but I had never seen The Fray live before Thursday. They put on a great stage show. I had not seen Carolina Liar before the show either, and they did very well too. Overall, it was one of the top concerts I have ever been to, since each of the three acts performed so well.

Carolina Liar opened the show at around 7:00. The crowd was still filing in, but they came out and got the crowd involved instantly. It is tough being the opening act, but Carolina Liar handled it very well. I recommend checking them out. Some of their hit songs include: "Show Me What I'm Looking For" and "I'm Not Over". They are from South Carolina and Sweden. After they performed their six song set, they signed autographs and took pictures with fans for the rest of the night. I mean the rest of the night too. Stayed out til past 11:00. Very down to Earth band. I enjoyed meeting them after the show. Good people.

Next came The Fray at about 7:50. I have always played The Fray's music here on Lite 97.5, but I was never a huge fan because I feel their songs are a little slow for my taste, but they won me over almost INSTANTLY. They are great live and lead singer Isaac Slade has a great stage presence. They played all their hits including "You Found Me", "How to Save a Life", "Over My Head" and their new hit and my personal favorite: "Heartbeat". They also paid tribute to those lost in Aurora, Colorado, which was a great moment during the show. The band is from Denver, which they said is about 25 minutes from Aurora. Next time they are around, I highly recommend checking them out live. Great show, great guys.

Finally, Kelly Clarkson hit the stage around 9:35. The crowd had been singing occasionally during Carolina Liar and The Fray's sets, but once Kelly came out with "My Life Would Suck Without You", the crowd started singing and they didn't stop until she finished her final song: "Stronger". I always feel the best part of Kelly Clarkson shows is how happy she makes her fans. When I look around the crowd, I just see all these people singing and having big smiles on their faces. She brings joy to each city she goes to and that is a great thing in the times we live in. Some fun parts of her set this time included her covering Fun's summer hit: "We are Young" and a fan request of TLC's "No Scrubs". Yes, Kelly sang "No Scrubs" and it was amazing. Haha. Great show from her, as always.

Great night at Jiffy Lube Live. Again, if you are not familiar with any of these artists, I recommend checking them out.
