Thanks for tuning in!

Hi, I'm Rona...and I'm pretty random. I blurt out things that come to mind. Sometimes funny, sometimes serious. Tune in to find out what I mean. Drop me a line at!

Haven't had time to blog!

Today is Halloween. I'm sure you know that somewhere in the back of your mind. However, hope you go out and trick or treat soon.

You've heard that the Red Cross has created a plan in case there is a zombie apocolypse right? Yeah, it's true. Go to this website and see what I mean.

After hearing about urban legends about the end of the world as predicted by the Mayan calendar this December, the national Red Cross launched its SavingZombies website, which contains information on what do in various emergencies, a “go bag” video contest, and a “survivor’s journal.” The Red Cross assists people in all sorts of emergencies. So why not the zombie apocalypse, when the undead are staggering around the streets? That’s the premise behind a tongue-in-cheek website that has the twin goals of having a little fun and getting people more prepared for natural disasters.

Also, dentists have found a great way to make something good out of Halloween.  They are buying back candy from kids and they'll send it to the troops. Read on...

Cashing In On Halloween Candy

While most kids focus on trick-or-treating just in terms of candy, the more entrepreneurial types should know there’s a quick and easy way to turn their hauls into cash. The Halloween Candy Buyback program buys candy back from trick-or-treaters, with participating dental practices around the country doing the actual purchasing. One dental practice in New Jersey, for instance, plans on paying $1 per pound of candy that kids bring in on the days after Halloween. The candy collections are used in Operation Gratitude care packages sent to U.S. troops. In addition to thanking the military, the goal of the program is to get some of that excessive candy away from kids, whose teeth and waistlines surely don’t need more sugar. Troops can get cavities too, of course, which is why the program is also asking for donations of toothbrushes and toothpaste! Parents can check to find out which local dentist is affiliated with the candy-buy-back offer. The candy is sent as part of care packages that also contain toiletries, DVDs, CDs, video games, headsets, webcams, snack food and letters of thanks. Halloween Candy Buyback collected about 122,000 pounds of candy last year alone.

What are some of the scariest Halloween movies?
Hans and I both don't really like scary Halloween movies. We both agreed that "Sean of the Dead" is a good one. Here's the trailer below (there is some language)
Creepshow from 1982 is one that I was really scared of after I saw it. I was 11 years old.
This one came out when I was about 7 years old the commercial itself, creeped me out and I still don't like to watch it to this day!!!!

Here's a list of the top 25 movies.
Charlie Chaplin was our famous Tramp today. Keep listening tomorrow at 7:30am to win! We have tickets to see Roger Hodgson "The Voice of Supertramp" at the Luhr's Center in Shippensburg. Show is Friday, November 9th at 8:00pm.
