 Hi I'm Danielle Hedges.  I am a born and raised local girl. After high school, I went to Tennessee where I went to college and met my husband.  After a few years away, I missed my family and my beloved West Virginia so I came back home.  I am a mom to Kacey, Karee and Kaden, they keep me pretty busy. After taking a year away from being on the Mid-day show, I am so glad to be back with you every weekday from 9a-2p.

Feeling Guilty for Working Out

When I was expecting my third child Kaden, I had Gestational diabetes.  I had to watch my diet and be active.  It made me more aware that I need to take better care of myself.
I have been active my whole life. I played basketball for many years and between work and kids you know how active you can be. Most recently I noticed I was starting to become more stressed with my life.  I remembered back to when I played sports that I felt my best and could control my stress better, so I joined a gym.  I'm trying to work out at the gym at least 3 days a week. 
Here comes the guilty part.  This morning I told my husband that after I got done on the radio that I was going to work out. My older daughter under her breathe said "great she won't be home till 4 or 5."  My response to her was, "Don't guilt me into not going, don't you want me to be healthy." 
So many times when we don't want to do something that is good for us we let ourselves be tempted by others saying that you can put it off.  I feel like in my life I can't do that anymore.  I feel I need to do  this to be the best Danielle and mom that I can be. 
So good luck to you my friend if you are going to try to do something for you when others are trying to guilt you into not doing it.
